FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
General Questions
- Solar panels installed on rooftops convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity.
- Inverters convert DC electricity from solar panels into alternating current (AC) electricity used in buildings.
- Inverters deliver power to the power distribution system (e.g., electrical panel).
- A bidirectional meter records energy imported from and exported to the grid, with saved energy and exported power reflected in your electricity bills
Applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Canadian permanent residency & citizen
- Home owner
- This house is your primary residency, and is more6 months old
Yes, you will still receive electricity bills because you are still connected to the city’s power grid (allowing you to draw electricity from the grid when the electricity generated by the solar panels is insufficient). However, your electricity bills will significantly decrease, or even potentially become negative, resulting in energy companies issuing credits to you.
The capacity of a residential solar power system cannot exceed the homeowner’s annual electricity consumption. Installing a smaller solar power system can partially offset grid energy consumption and potentially generate surplus electricity. Over time, if your household energy consumption increases, additional solar modules can be added.
After solar panels are installed, call your insurance company to add them to your policy. Some insurance companies won’t change your rates, while others may add approximately $40/year

Solar Panel System
Solar Panel:15 years of product warranty,25 years of linear performance warranty
Mirco inverter:12 years of product warranty, extend to 25 years with extra cost
Maintenance:3 years free maintenance,extend to up to 10 years with $180 / y
Yes, in general, the installation of solar panels increases the value of the house by approximately 4.1%.
Yes, you can expand it, but you need to reapply. You will need to provide the purchase invoice for the electric vehicle and some documents related to the charging station, which will be submitted as part of the expansion application.
This depends on your energy usage and system size, typically around 8-10 years. It is also influenced by various factors such as sunlight conditions, weather, and system performance, which can affect this timeframe.

Installation
We typically need the following information:
- Your annual usage in kWh or your monthly billing amount
- The location that you’d like to install the solar panel
- If you’re interested in a roof mount, it also helps that we know the type of roofing (asphalt shingles, metal, etc), the year it was installed and the pitch (e.g. 4/12)
The more information we have, the more accurate our quote will be.
The whole process from initial quota to your system start to generating power may take around 2 months. The installation usually takes 1 day.
Yes, we use watertight connector unit during the installation.

Maintenance
Regular monitoring of energy production will provide insights into the overall condition of the solar panels. However, solar panels require regular cleaning and inspection.
Discuss coverage for solar panels with your insurance company – they typically cover the cost of new panels and installation.
Sunfire provide this buyback program to our customer. If you are selling your house within 3 years after solar panel installation, I pay a decent amount of cash to buy back the solar system.
